MY STORY

About Amy

I did not find this work because I was searching for a career.

I found it because I needed it to survive - and then to live.

The philosophy behind everything

What I believe about healing.

Heal

Your body already knows how to heal. It is not broken and it has never been broken. It simply needs the right conditions — and someone to show you what those are.

Grow

Real growth is not linear. It is deep, slow and whole — like a root system working through dark soil before anything appears above the surface. Trust the process beneath.

Emerge

When the conditions are right, transformation is not forced — it is inevitable. Like the dragonfly. Like you. That emergence is what Libe'lula was built to support.

Amy, founder of Libe'lula

Who I am

Hey. I'm Amy.

Most would describe me as a mum of four, a partner, a herbalist, an energy healer, and someone who works in mental health. And all of that is true.

But the truest thing I can tell you about who I am is this: I am someone who has walked through the darkest parts of what it means to be human — and found a way through. Not around. Not over. Through.

I am the first-generation Australian daughter of British parents. I grew up in a blended family of seven children in rural NSW — learning resilience, practical life skills, and how to live in harmony with animals, nature and a whole lot of chaos.

At nine years old, complex childhood trauma reshaped everything. It left me carrying things I was never meant to carry, and navigating a world that often felt unsafe in ways I could not name or explain.

"I was not broken. I was adaptive. My body and mind were doing exactly what they were designed to do — surviving the environment I was shaped in. The problem was never me. It was the conditions."

— Amy

Understanding that distinction changed my entire life. And it is the foundation on which every single thing inside Libe'lula is built.

The road here

My story.

I became a mother at 24. And it was my children — before anyone or anything else — who gave me the reason to stop surviving and start healing. For them at first, and then slowly, profoundly, for myself.

I spent years searching through every system available. Mainstream medicine. Psychology. Psychiatry. Naturopathy. Energy healing. Herbal medicine. Breathwork. Somatic work. I read everything I could find. I tried everything that resonated.

Some things helped enormously. Nothing felt complete on its own.

At 31 I received a diagnosis of Complex PTSD — which gave language to experiences I had been carrying for over two decades. At 32, a diagnosis of ADHD and high-functioning Autism gave me even deeper clarity into how I experience the world, how I process information, and why so many conventional approaches had never quite fitted.

Those diagnoses were not defining moments. They were clarifying ones. They helped me stop trying to fit my healing into systems that were never designed for how I am wired — and start building something that actually worked for me instead.

Through exploring every healing system, modality and life skill I could access — blending lived experience with formal study and frontline hands-on work — I discovered something that became the cornerstone of Libe'lula:

Healing is multidimensional, self-led and integrative. And when you understand how your whole system works — body, mind, soul and energetic blueprint — everything changes.

Formal training and qualifications

The education behind the work.

Every qualification I have pursued was driven by lived necessity first, and professional passion second. I did not study these things to build a career. I studied them because I needed to understand how to truly heal — and then because I wanted to teach everything I found to others.

Diploma of Mental Health

Formal training in mental health frameworks, trauma-informed practice, and therapeutic approaches. Combined with years of frontline work in mental health and disability support in Regional NSW.

Diploma of Health Science — Western Herbal Medicine

Deep study of plant medicine, body systems and the science of how herbs work synergistically with the body's innate healing capacity. My garden is my living, breathing classroom.

Master — Merlin Trinity Healing & Awakening System

All four levels of MTHS completed. Authorised to teach and certify students in Levels 1, 2 and 3. One of only a small number of MTHS Masters operating in Australia.

Mental Health & Disability Support — Frontline Practice

Years of hands-on work with people navigating complex trauma, disability, and the health system. This work taught me what real, human, imperfect support actually looks and feels like.

I am also a student of life, a chronic researcher, a deeply curious human being, and someone who will never stop learning.

The journey in moments

How I got here.

Age 9

The wound that shaped everything

Complex childhood trauma. The beginning of a long journey I did not yet have words for — learning to survive in a world that suddenly felt fundamentally unsafe.

Age 24

Becoming a mother — the reason to heal

My first child. The realisation that surviving was no longer enough — and the beginning of the most important work of my life. For them first. Then for me.

Age 31

Complex PTSD diagnosis

Finally, language for what I had been carrying for over two decades. Not a sentence — a doorway. The beginning of understanding my nervous system as intelligent and adaptive, not broken.

Age 32

ADHD and Autism diagnosis

Profound clarity about how I process the world, why conventional approaches had never quite fitted, and how to finally build a healing practice that genuinely worked for how I am wired.

Ongoing

Formal study, MTHS mastery and Libe'lula

Years of formal study across mental health, Western herbal medicine and MTHS energy healing. Years of frontline support work. And eventually, the clarity that I needed to share everything I had found.

Now

Libe'lula — Heal & Emerge

The community I wish had existed when I was searching. Built with everything I know, everything I have lived, and everything I believe about what true, lasting, whole-system healing looks like.

The human behind the work

Life outside Libe'lula.

Because I think it matters that you know me as a person, not just as a practitioner.

Mum of four

My children are the reason I started this work and the reason I keep going. They have taught me more about healing, presence and unconditional love than any qualification ever could.

The garden

My raised beds and greenhouse are where I do some of my deepest thinking. Growing food and medicine is a daily practice in patience, trust and the miracle of living systems doing exactly what they are designed to do.

The rescue family

Two dogs, ten ex-battery hens and a drake — all rescues. They were all discarded the moment they stopped being useful to someone else. I know what it is to feel that way. So does almost everyone who finds their way to Libe'lula.

Regional NSW

I am rooted in the land, the pace and the community of Regional NSW. Libe'lula is fully online — which means wherever in the world you are, there is space for you here.

Why this work matters to me

I am living proof that deep healing is possible.

I did not build Libe'lula because I had all the answers. I built it because I spent years searching for a space exactly like this — and it did not exist.

A space where you are not told what to do without being told why. Where you are not given a program to follow without understanding how your own body works. Where every healing modality is valued — not as a replacement for each other, but as a piece of the whole.

A space where you are not too much, not too broken, not too late. Where complex trauma is held with the care it deserves. Where your healing is yours — not a version of someone else's blueprint.

My role is not to fix you or carry you through this.

It is to educate you, guide you, and show you exactly how to work with your own body, mind, soul and energetic blueprint — so you can do the most important work of your life yourself.

Because true healing only happens when you do.

Ready to begin?

Your healing journey is waiting.

Come as you are. Exactly as you are. There is a place here for you.
